Connecticut-based DATTCO adds premium MCI coaches to its fleet

Des Plaines, Illinois, USA, September 30, 2025: (TSX:NFI, OTC:NFYEF, TSX:NFI.DB)
Motor Coach Industries (MCI), a subsidiary of NFI Group Inc. and North America’s motorcoach leader, offering in-field technical expertise, 24/7 roadside assistance, and parts support, today announced the delivery of three new J4500 motorcoaches to DATTCO, a premier transportation provider based in New Britain, Connecticut.
MCI has customized the model year 2026 coaches to DATTCO’s specifications, featuring enhanced seating, advanced safety technology, and branded exterior styling—designed to meet the high expectations of DATTCO’s charter and tour clientele.
“DATTCO is known for doing things the right way—with care, detail, and a constant focus on the customer,” said Tom Wagner, Vice President, Private Sector Sales and Service, MCI. “We’re proud to deliver these J4500s to such a respected operator and look forward to supporting their team in every way we can.”
For more than a century, DATTCO has stood as one of the Northeast’s most trusted transportation providers—family-owned, community-focused, and nationally respected. Known for its operational excellence and industry leadership, the company continues to evolve its fleet to meet the needs of modern passengers.
DATTCO’s extensive fleet already includes MCI coaches, but this delivery marks their first new J4500 order since 2019. The vehicles will be put into service across the Northeast U.S.
“DATTCO has worked hard to create a leading customer experience focused on safety, comfort, and reliability. It was important to us that the experience remain consistent with the introduction of a new model to our core charter fleet, and the team at MCI listened and worked to meet that goal,” said Dennis Lyons, Vice President, Coach & Tour Group, DATTCO. “The support from initial reach-out through this week’s delivery has been great. We look forward to continuing to work with MCI as these coaches enter service with our valued customers.”
As part of the process, DATTCO’s leadership has toured the MCI plant in Winnipeg, Manitoba, in addition to MCI and NFI Parts representatives visiting DATTCO’s New Britain facility to review long-term fleet support strategies, including parts and training resources provided through NFI Parts and MCI Academy.
Now in its 101st year, DATTCO remains a multigenerational, family-owned company deeply embedded in the communities it serves. Its leadership team plays an active role in industry associations and events, helping to shape the future of motorcoach transportation through collaboration and shared best practices.
