CHECKER BUS ADDS ITS VERY FIRST NEW COACH — A 2019 MCI J4500

DES PLAINES, ILLINOIS, NOVEMBER 8, 2018: (TSX:NFI) Motor Coach Industries (MCI), a U.S. subsidiary of NFI Group Inc., ("NFI"), the largest transit bus and motor coach manufacturer and parts distributor in North America, recognizes the delivery of an operator's very first brand-new coach makes for a very special day. It represents a big investment with big expectations for pleasing passengers and providing long-term reliability and business growth.

MCI's latest first new coach delivery is to Checker Bus in Marquette, Michigan, which took delivery of its first all-new 2019 MCI J4500. "We went with MCI because of our past history with its reliability, parts availability and speed of delivery," said Jesse Schramm, owner of Checker Bus, who founded the company in 2010 with a single minivan. The company's new J4500 joins a diverse fleet of more than 30 vehicles including an entertainer coach, mini-coach, mini-bus/shuttles, limo buses, trolleys, school buses, SUVs and Sedans, and even a pedal cruiser.

"It's all about what customers want," says Schramm, "And that includes an up-to-date motor coach. Our pre-owned coaches range from 1996-2012." The family owned company has a particular niche in school and university athletic transportation in addition to tours and local event service.

Featuring Northern Michigan University's Wildcats sports decal, Checker's new J4500 comes in dark phantom gray with an upscale interior to match. Inside carbon-fiber parcel racks and matching seating by Amaya is complemented with best-in-class legroom, power outlets, video monitors, along with side-view and back-up camera system.

Stepping up to an all-new coach means style and even greater reliability for this growing company in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Says Schramm, "We handle every customer and know their preferences of driver and equipment. We work very hard to keep our entire fleet in top condition and we do not take our customers' time for granted."

To support its quality fleet, Checker is a dedicated customer of the MCI Academy, MCI's North American online and onsite technician and driver training operation and the first to receive Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Accreditation in the motor coach industry.

Asked what he's proudest of in his business, Schramm responded, "We support a lot of local families with jobs, and have helped many folks obtain their CDL (commercial drivers license)."

Delivering a new coach to an owner of any size means something to MCI too. "For more than 85 years, we've been providing operators with new vehicles with the latest technology," said Pat Ziska, MCI Vice President of New Coach Sales. "But that very first new MCI is a milestone for any company and we work hard to make it work for them."
