Stop here for complete brake assemblies

The MCI Parts Store carries all the usual name-brand brakes and brake components, and with great prices and fast shipping to boot. But MCI also offers something most coach manufacturers don't — top-quality brakes created in-house.

In Ohio, MCI's Loudonville facility has extensive specialized manufacturing capabilities. One of its specialties is remanufacturing brake shoes to like-new condition and combining them with top-rate linings, offering operators and their technicians significant cost and time savings.

In addition to the brake assemblies, MCI can customize brake assembly kits, which include all the pins, bushings and other parts needed for complete brake replacement. It's a service MCI has been providing some of the country's largest line-haul and transit operators in the country for years, says plant manager Carl Roth, who notes that MCI has a rigorous production and quality assurance program that keeps quality extremely high and returns virtually nonexistent.

Most of MCI's brake assemblies are consistently in stock, with the quick, capable delivery for which MCI is known.

Here are some of MCI's proprietary brake offerings:

W-Brake assemblies. Customers with older D-Series coaches and other models, including non-MCI makes, most likely use W-Brakes. MCI remanufactures these, offering a choice of original bolted linings or MCI's custom-bonded linings, which can help operators go longer between brake jobs.

Wedge brakes. These are the brakes most often used on older RTS transit buses, especially on pre-1995 models.

Q-Plus brakes: Owners of newer MCI models will generally want this riveted brake assembly.

Q-Plus cast brakes: No MCI models use these, but many low-floor transit buses do.

Brake assembly and hardware kits. MCI can put together a kit that combines any of its brake assemblies, plus the needed parts to make quick work of doing a total brake replacement. Saves time and money, and lessens the possibility of installation errors!
