FYI from MCI™

Official NFL Sports Map®, free to the first 50 FYI subscribers who respond.

Madden once offered a few tips for effective football fandom in an interview with Conde Nast Sports. First: Pick a player. Any player. Then follow and enjoy what he does on every play. Second: Don’t watch the ball. Instead, watch the center or the lineman. If they move forward of the line of scrimmage, expect a running play. Look for the hole that the running back is going to carry the ball through. If the linemen drop back, it will likely be a passing play. Look to what the receivers are doing. Then try to read the defense, see where the coverage is, then look at the quarterback. You have to look quickly because it all happens in two to three seconds. Third: Learn the lingo. It helps you know the play. For instance, BOB, or back on backer means the fullback is going to block the linebacker.

And to help you gain an in-depth understanding of the game, MCI is offering a copy of the official NFL Sports Map to the first 50 FYI subscribers who respond. It’s our way of thanking you for supporting MCI.
