Top 10 Reasons to go to UMA EXPO 2008

January is coming fast, and with it the industry's largest trade show: United Motorcoach Association EXPO 2008. UMA officials report that registrations are up about 50 percent over last year. Is it the beautiful San Francisco location? The parade of new and improved equipment? We don't know, but we can give you several reasons why you should go to the show, January 16 through January 20, including $25 off registration when you use "MCI" as a discount code. Here are the other ten reasons:

  1. Network with peers
Curious about the competition's new ghost tour? Want to know who's looking for a new job? Just want to see what your favorite sales rep looks like before the morning coffee kicks in? From breakfast gatherings to evening cocktails, UMA Expo is full of opportunities to connect with old colleagues and find new friends.
  1. See new equipment
If you want to experience MCI's new Blaupunkt entertainment system, or see how asset-tracking really works, this is your chance. MCI will have its latest coaches on display, with all the latest features.
  1. Put your mechanics to the test
Bring your best wrench-turners and socket scientists to compete in the UMA Maintenance Competition. If yours don't win, there's lots to learn at the Annual Maintenance Interchange.
  1. Make the grade
Want to learn how to more precisely value your business? Break into the school market? Write a grant? UMA has more than a dozen classes, seminars and informal learning opportunities for you, led by industry insiders who want you to succeed.
  1. Play tourist
Drive the Golden Gate Bridge. Do your time at Alcatraz. If any city can give last year's New Orleans site a run for the money, it's San Francisco. You may even get a turn on a cable car.
  1. Win something
Are you a safety leader? Have you acted on your vision? Are you at the forefront of the industry when it comes to protecting and championing the environment? UMA might have an award for you — and maybe even a banquet to go with it.
  1. Drive through a California blizzard without breaking a sweat
MCI will again have its Coach Driving Simulator at UMA, and expert trainers will be available to put guests through the paces. Try to handle potholes, deal with blowouts, avoid pedestrians and master wicked weather driving, all without leaving the comfortable confines of the Moscone convention center.
  1. Go green, Go coach, Go MCI!
MCI will continue to promote the green benefits of travel. In addition to showcasing the latest clean-diesel technology, we'll be sponsoring UMA's first-ever "Green Vision" award. Also come to our booth for giveaways, refreshments and the latest news on our hybrid diesel-electric coach!
  1. There's room for your clubs
UMA will host the Fourth Annual Ray Dupuis Memorial Golf Tournament at one of the nation's top public courses: the Presidio. Registration deadline is January 9.

The Number 1 Reason to go to UMA EXPO 2008

  1. Celebrate MCI's 75th birthday
MCI will host a gala evening cruise to mark the company's diamond jubilee. Our guests will board the California Hornblower for a night of music, dancing, dining and cocktails, along with a view of the San Francisco harbor that can't be beat.
