FYI from MCI™

MCI poised to join leading insurance association

MCI has applied for membership in the National Truck and Heavy Equipment Claims Council, an association dedicated to insurance claims issues. The council has accepted the application and is expected to officially vote MCI in during May at the NTHECC meeting in Dallas.

The 45-year-old organization counts among its objectives promoting safety in the ownership of trucks, motor coaches and other heavy equipment; studying the cause of highway accidents; considering problems associated with the handling of insurance claims; promoting a high standard of ethics in the handling of insurance claims; promoting programs that make insurance claims processing more efficient; and bringing about wider public recognition of the insurance industry. Members include more than 100 companies, claims adjusters and insurance administrators; associate members include several leading manufacturers.

Jerry Cignarella, vice president of MCI Service Center Operations, made a presentation to the council during its Orlando meeting October 7. The council meets twice a year. "We look forward to being a part of the organization and advancing their goals," said Cignarella. "The value we'll bring is in our high standards in repair practices, standard repair times, price consistency and dedicated technical support for adjusting members across North America. We want adjusters to know that MCI has committed resources to making their lives easier."

Cignarella says he also looks forward to forming a closer relationship with members and familiarizing them with MCI's vehicles and services. Such alliances will ultimately benefit MCI operators, he maintains. "At the end of the day, we want our customers to be comfortable that their adjusters will pass on the value of OEM standards and repair practices for their coaches."
