All nine MCI service centers are alike in some ways: they offer an outstanding range of preventative maintenance and repairs, using the latest in diagnostic equipment technology. Technicians are continuously being trained by MCI and other OEM equipment manufacturers on the latest in coach technology. All of our MCI service centers feature comfortable customer facilities, and often will provide lunch or dinner for visiting drivers if they must wait for a longer repair.
All offer MCI warranty and field-campaign work, and all are equipped to work on non-MCI coaches as well. All stock and sell parts, and all offer a 90-day labor and parts warranty. "Our goal is to provide customers a 'one-stop shopping' destination," says Jerry Cignarella, vice president of the service centers. Yet there are a few differences. Some service centers are additionally able to offer specialized inspections, or bodywork, special tire packages or other exclusive services. Atlantic City, New Jersey Serving one of the most popular tourist spots in the U.S., MCI's Atlantic City facility is located near the famous boardwalk, ideally situated for operators looking for quick repairs and convenient preventative maintenance while their passengers hit the gaming tables. The 8,000-square-foot facility is on the same property as the huge Transportation Center, which serves as a parking hub, fueling station and bus wash facility for coaches traveling to Atlantic City — of which there are many. General Manager Walt Novak and his staff know how to take care of customers quickly, efficiently and effectively. Services include:
Blackwood, New Jersey Another Walt Novak-managed shop, MCI's Blackwood facility is arguably MCI's busiest, serving much of the East Coast as well as those operators passing through. Some 20 technicians, including those certified by major engine and transmission manufacturers, work to provide an exceptionally wide variety of maintenance and repair services. The facility is also near MCI's East Coast parts distribution center, assuring local customers can get most parts extremely quickly. Not to mention there's an extremely comfortable customer lounge with cable television and premium channels. "We want to give operators many reasons to come to MCI," says Novak. Services include:
Dallas, Texas Services include:
Des Plaines, Illinois MCI's service center in Des Plaines is conveniently near downtown Chicago and only minutes from O'Hare Airport. With 19 bays, 19 repair technicians and four very experienced bodywork technicians, it attracts customers from the entire Midwest, as well as those just passing through the area. In addition to the maintenance and repair services that all MCI service centers offer, the Des Plaines facility does collision and paint work onsite. Plus, with nearly 10 acres of space, there's always a spot to park. General Manager Mark Thuer promises drivers an endless pot of coffee and satellite television in the comfortable customer lounge, and the drive-through reception bay makes sure that customers stay warm and dry from the moment they drive up. The center has been instrumental in developing the contract-maintenance service known as the MCI Coach Maintenance Agreement. Services include:
Lebanon, Tennessee Conveniently located near Nashville's most popular attractions, MCI's Lebanon facility is one of the company's newest, and it's location was selected to serve the needs of conversion-coach customers as well as MCI's traditional base of tour and charter operators. "Conversion coaches, seated coaches, we do it all. There are very few jobs, if any, that the Lebanon facility will turn away," says Branch Manager Gary Myers. In addition to the usual array of maintenance and repairs, it's well equipped to handle collision and other bodywork, even on highly customized entertainer coaches. It also offers mobile service, routinely offering a high level of emergency roadside service as well as dispatching technicians to customer sites. Services include:
Los Alamitos, California Convenient to Los Angeles and all of Southern California's top attractions, the Los Alamitos facility boasts one of MCI's larger service-center buildings along with an experienced staff of technicians led by General Manager David Martinez. In addition to a full range of repair and maintenance services, it's one of only two MCI facilities offering wheelchair-lift retrofit work and one of the few that offer collision repair. It also features an upgraded customer lounge. Martinez has a firm focus on customer service, one that's driven by an innate sense of honor and empathy. "I like to think about how I'd feel in any given situation," says Martinez. "It's the human factor." Services include:
537 North Market Street (877) 754-4404 The industry's premier collision and reconditioning center, Loudonville can take practically any damaged or tired-looking coach and make it look and drive like it just came off the showroom floor. With 75,000 square feet and room for 35 coaches at any one time, Loudonville is by far MCI's largest and most complex service facility. In addition to its crack team of body specialists and mechanics, the Loudonville facility includes a manufacturing space for custom fabrication. But bodywork and reconstruction isn't the only story here. Under the capable direction of General Manager Ron Miller, Loudonville technicians are happy to perform routine service, right down to simple oil changes. Services include:
Montreal, Quebec Right next to downtown Montreal, this modern bilingual shop serves all of Eastern Canada with a full range of mechanical and body services. Under the direction of General Manager Robert Leduc, more than a dozen technicians diagnose and repair all makes and models of coaches. Montreal is one of the MCI locations equipped to do paint and collision work, and there's always someone ready to answer operator questions, no matter what time it is. Says Leduc, "When people call after hours, that's my cell phone they're calling. It's always on." Services include:
Orlando, Florida Within minutes of Disney, Universal Studios and other world-famous attractions, MCI's Central Florida facility is one of the company's busiest, at least in winter and spring. Customers from all over North America have come to rely on the facility for quick, high-quality repairs and maintenance services — often done while the driver's passengers are meeting Mickey and indulging in thrill rides that contrast sharply with the cushy comfort of an MCI coach seat. General Manager Dan Heath is especially aware of making sure visiting drivers are comfortable and well fed — and well served by technicians. In all, he heads a team of nearly a dozen technicians plus support people. "We're solidly staffed," says Heath. We take calls at night, and we provide a lot of emergency service on the weekends. It's a good team." Services include:
