MCI Tech Tune-ups to give operators hands-on lessons

Today's coaches are complex. But staying on top of the latest technology can be relatively simple when you take advantage of MCI's many training opportunities. MCI's latest Tech Tune-up schedule packs a wealth of knowledge into three and a half days at MCI's Technical Training Center in Louisville. The intensive, hands-on classes cover all major coach systems.

Back by popular demand, this year's schedule will include free 608 and 609 EPA Certification testing, says Scott Crawford, MCI's technical training manager. The certification is for those who want to be fully qualified to work on AC systems. There are four Tech Tune-ups scheduled in Louisville in 2008. MCI also schedules two-day regional training sessions throughout the year. The April session at Pennco Tech in Blackwood, New Jersey, focusing primarily on the AC system, has already sold out.

Classes will be taught by MCI's top pros, led by senior technical advisors Steve Kiner, Skip Neff and Gator Pryne.

Thorough as it is, the Tech Tune-up isn't all work. MCI provides transportation and many meals, including an opening-night dinner with plenty of giveaways. Participants also enjoy tours of the Louisville Distribution Center, along with the opportunity to meet (and in some cases thank!) the ERSA call center, warranty and technical support staff.

"We've had nothing but positive feedback; it just keeps getting better and better," says Crawford.
