There are road worriers, and then there are road warriors. MCI wants to turn the former into the latter by offering them a select group of pre-owned MCI coaches that have been thoroughly inspected and repaired, if necessary, to meet strict quality standards — in short, pre-owned MCI coaches that are ready to roll. And, for a limited time, customers who buy MCI's ready-to-roll coaches will enjoy a limited 60-day warranty. Plus, customers who buy a pre-owned coach priced at $60,000 or more by January 29 will be able to choose between an additional $3,000 off or 90 days of free financing, subject to credit approval.

"The main reason we're offering these ready-to-roll coaches is that a lot of our customers have expectations similar to those of our new-coach customers — they want a coach that they can drive away and put directly into revenue service," says Brent Maitland, vice president of service and pre-owned coach. "We have long checklists and strict standards to make sure that these coaches are ready to run from Day One."

While many of the coaches available under the MCI Ready-to-Roll program are nearly new models with top-tier amenities and lower miles, some are slightly older and more simply equipped — but still in great shape, with brake systems, tires, clutches and other components with ample service life remaining. "We wanted to make sure our customers will find a variety of coaches that will meet their needs," says Maitland. "Ready-to-Roll transcends age. MCI coaches are built to endure, and in many cases, age is just a number."

So far, operators are responding favorably, says Maitland. "Adding this option is yet another way that MCI is going further to help meet the needs of its pre-owned coach customers."
