It's a deal!
MCI Financial Services is dedicated to taking the guesswork — and legwork — out of the financing process. "These are expensive pieces of equipment," says Mike Denny, vice president of MCI Financial Services. "Most customers can't just run down to the local bank to finance their new or pre-owned coaches. We have built relationships with more than a dozen different funding sources that serve the industry. That provides us with lots of flexibility to best meet our customers' needs." The other side of the MCI financing equation is the relationship that Denny and his team have built with customers. Indeed, MCI Financial Services ends up arranging the financing for more than half of the coaches sold by MCI. Denny and regional account managers Chris Park and Tony Pederson all have extensive experience in coach financing, along with the trust of their customers. Rosa Alvarez, owner of Latin Express, famous for its flamboyantly painted fleet, says she used to shop for financing on her own. "It was horrible," she says, citing the difficulties of dealing with the competitive tactics of various lending institutions. With MCI Financial Services, she says, "I don't have to worry. Tony [Pederson] goes out and gets me the best deal."Louis Sanders, vice president and general manager of Louisiana Trailways, concurs. "The service is invaluable. If you're not into heavy-equipment financing — and most people aren't — it's hard to know what all of your options are." Sanders says his company has been using MCI Financial Services for more than ten years, having arranged loans on multiple coach purchases twice in 2006 alone. "We don’t have time to shop financing. With MCI Financial Services, we don't have to break a sweat. We know we're getting the best deal across the board." Steve Busskohl, chief executive officer of Arrow Stage Lines, which took 11 coaches just a month ago, says, "One of the keys to our growth over the past four years has been the excellent service and support we have received from MCI Financial Services. In multiple bus purchases, we have needed assistance in securing financial partners from outside of our sphere of influence." Busskohl credits MCI Financial Services with doing an "incredible job" in securing financial partners for the company, which runs 65 MCI coaches and a total fleet of more than 170 vehicles. "I'm confident that without their support, we would be significantly less in bus numbers than we are today." Ultimately, says Denny, MCI Financial Services is committed to offering full, attentive service and a good fit with operators' credit. Says Denny, "We want to make it easy for the customer."
