FYI from MCI™

Dream Tours wins dream trip from MCI Experiences Event

Peter Yi of Dream Tours, based in Falls Church, Virginia, has won the MCI Experiences Event grand prize of four tickets to the Super Bowl in Detroit on February 5. A Redskins fan, Yi hopes to see his favorite team go all the way. "I've never been to the Super Bowl, and I'm very excited about the opportunity."

Yi and his three guests will be given VIP treatment including transportation between the hotel and the game in an MCI entertainer coach much like the one NFL broadcaster and MCI spokesperson John Madden rides.

Yi upped his chances for winning with the year-end purchase of a fast-track, in-stock MCI® J4500 coach equipped with a Cat engine and ZF ASTronic transmission powertrain.

Yi founded Dream Tours in 1999 with two coaches and one mini bus. Today the company operates a fleet of eight coaches and mini buses. At the end of the month, Dream Tours will relocate to Capitol Height, Maryland, where the company has recently purchased a service center. All together, the company has 15 employees. Dream Tours serves an international clientele, including corporate groups and tourists from China and Korea. The company also serves schools.

A 1995 graduate of the University of Virginia, Yi worked for a tour company prior to founding Dream Tours.

Three go 2,000 mules further — to Tampa!

The overtime hours, Herculean efforts and accompanying "Going further!" certificates have been piling up for months. But finally, the search for the grand-prize winners is over. MCI's ultimate "Going further!" winners will travel to Tampa with MCI for the UMA Expo. Each will receive airfare and hotel accommodations for two, along with VIP status at all of the festivities that MCI has planned. FYI from MCI offers its congratulations.

Curtis Chrusch, an electrical technologist in Engineering at Winnipeg, doesn't mind going the extra mile — even when it means staying late. Chrusch caught the attention of nominator Chris Kroeker for staying late on a Friday and coming in twice on a Saturday to troubleshoot a coach that was scheduled for delivery. Robert (Bob) Cheesman, a technician at MCI's service center in Blackwood, New Jersey, has driven to MTA's New York City service center every day for the past three months to assist with warranty needs requested by the public sector customer. Bob was nominated by Dan Besserer, director of public sector fleet support. Bob extends his thanks to both Dan and Tony Amaducci, "who got me through a lot of the work at hand. Tony's experience and knowledge was indispensable." Jean Morrison, a receiver at MCI's Pembina, North Dakota, plant, is respected for her every day mastery of her job. Nominated by Brent Hotten, she earned her "Going further!" recognition for going above and beyond her usual duties. "Jean always responds to additional duties by digging in and always finding a way to get the job done," said Hotten.
