Keeping up appearances - Get a new look for your MCI® D4500 or DL MCI is updating its best-selling D4500 and shorter D4000 sibling with a new look and new moniker for 2005. The 45-foot D4505 and the 40-foot D 4005 will roll off MCI's assembly line beginning this month. But if a new coach isn't for you, MCI also offers a D-model retrofit kit, offering a look similar to that of the new coaches. Available exclusively through MCI Fleet Support service centers, two types of D-Series retrofits are available. One is a restyling kit that includes a frameless window sash; new flared headlights and directionals; trim and driplines; and a sleeker door and bumper. The other kit includes the major updates but without the frameless window sash. Jerry Cignarella, MCI Fleet Support executive director of service centers, said, "The kits have been designed with factory input, and our technicians have been trained on their installation. MCI's D is renowned as a hard-working, dependable coach, and the new fronts provide an operator a cost-effective way to achieve up-to-date curbside appeal, while extending coaches' useful life." MCI Fleet Support Sales Centers will also offer pre-owned D4500 coaches already retrofitted with the new look.
