OMCA readies for trade show opening

The Ontario Motor Coach Association is holding its Annual Conference and Marketplace October 19 through October 22 in at the Doubletree Hotel in Toronto. The show brings together coach operators, suppliers, travel buyers and travel suppliers from all over North America and is billed as Canada’s premier coach travel show; it also features keynote speakers, educational sessions and networking opportunities.

Brian Crow, OMCA president and CEO, says the show is attended by travel suppliers and bus operators throughout Canada as well as the United States, and all are welcome. About 650 have registered so far. The event is largely a showcase for travel suppliers, hotels and attractions to present their products to tour planners, bus operators and other potential buyers.

Events on the schedule that will be of particular interest to bus operators include a Winter Games 2010 planning session, a Transportation Canada presentation on crash testing, a discussion on driver-fatigue prevention, safety seminars, silent auctions, and social gatherings.

Though suppliers must be OMCA members, tour operators may attend the event as guests. For registration, schedules and more information, visit
