MCI readies cleaner engines for 2007: Proving that it really is ready to "go green," MCI has been first out of the coach-industry gate in testing the latest clean-diesel engines from Detroit Diesel and Caterpillar. To date, the J4500 with the new Cat C13 engine has passed its testing, as have D4505s with the Caterpillar and Detroit Diesel Series 60 engine. Pilot vehicles are on the way. MCI Service Center rolls out red carpet, buffet line for stranded customer: When American Heritage Trails visited MCI's Blackwood, New Jersey, service center with a blinking alternator light, they got more than the fast, professional service for which MCI is known. They also got chicken, ribs and everything else on the menu at the facility's open house, which happened to be scheduled for that afternoon. To learn more, click here.

Converting to Cummins: Commuter-service and other operators are looking forward to a new coach option come mid 2007: the Cummins ISM clean diesel engine. Slated initially to appear on D-Series coaches with Allison transmissions, it will appear on ZF-transmission-equipped J4500 models later in the year.
