Wheels. Bigger isn't always better: Some have asked why MCI is not offering extra-wide tires on its coaches. The reason? Regulatory compliance, for one. MCI believes that such tires cause coaches to routinely exceed per-tire axle weight allowances as defined by the federal bridge rules — and that can cost operators far more than the fuel they believe they'll be saving.
