Air Suspension Leveling Valves - D/DL Models

The MCI D/DL model coaches incorporate four air leveling valves for the air suspension. Two are located on the drive axle and two are located on the front axle.

The two sensors on the drive axle are located on each side of the axle and control the side to side leveling of the coach. These are set to maintain a drive axle bellow height of 11 inches. The part numbers of the valves are listed below:

  • RH side of the drive axle: 12C-6-1
  • LH side of the drive axle: 12C-6-2

The two sensors on the front axle have completely separate responsibilities. The sensor on the LH side of the front axle controls the ride height of the front axle bellows, which is set at 11 inches (the same as the drive axle). The second sensor on the RH side is used specifically for the kneeling feature on the coach. This valve supplies an air signal to the kneeling control system to raise the front of the coach quickly from kneel to normal ride height. This valve is adjusted so this air signal is stopped when the front axle bellows reach a height of 9.5-10 inches. The part numbers are listed below:

  • RH/front axle (kneeling system valve):12L-6-63
  • LH side/front axle (ride height valve): 12C-6-1

NOTE: DO NOT SUBSTITUTE ANY OF THE BASIC LEVELING VALVES FOR THIS KNEELING SYSTEM VALVE! THEY MAY LOOK SIMILAR ON THE OUTSIDE BUT ARE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT INTERNALLY. THEY ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE!
